PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION AT DARCH [&CO]
Born in Barcelona 1948, Alexis de Vilar is a writer, photographer and explorer. He has spent almost 50 years photographing distant cultures fighting to save those far off places from being mistaken for “primitive” as well as helping their natural habitat to endure the advance of industrial society.
He has written a number of novels, essays, travel journals and countless articles which have been published in some of the most prestigious newspapers and magazines throughout Europe, Africa and America.
As a photographer his work has been shown in solo exhibitions, art galleries and museums in Africa, Asia and America. In this context it is reassuring to find a photographer like Alexis de Vilar who makes us share his dream. This Paradise would be truly lost if his photographs weren’t the finest way to make it our heritage.
